sidePanelOpened = false, 250)" :style="{ overflow: sidePanelOpened ? 'hidden' : 'auto' }" >Fischer Farms is starting a new project in partnership with the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) and the National Resource Conservation Service (NRCS) with technical assistance from Indiana University, University of Kentucky, and Purdue University, to expand their work over the last 20 years to raise cattle in a climate smart manner.
The Ultimate Beef Project will be doing research to clearly define the practices that sequester the most carbon and reduces greenhouse gases.
These practices will then be taught to other beef producers that supply Fischer Farms and then to other beef suppliers across the country. More information on the regenerative agriculture practices that will be implemented and researched during the project can be found here.
This project aims to generate knowledge of carbon sequestration and greenhouse gas emissions for the Fischer Farms beef production system, to inform future business decisions, and to generate science-based marketing tools that will enable buyers to actively participate in climate-positive purchasing and eating decisions. The project will include livestock producers, and it will support Fischer Farms’ market expansion into other areas.
