Much Needed Rain on our Family Farm

The 2024 June drought is over. We had 0.3” of rain from June 6th until July 3.
The drought monitor compares 2023 with 2024.We had a similar drought in 2023. It seems every June and September we have micro droughts that set our crops back.
We got 5.25 inches of rain since Wednesday! Hard rains like this make soil health critical too. With healthy soil, the fields are able to absorb and retain more of the water instead of the rain washing right off and into the creeks. With the super heavy rains, we still have some water that runs off but less than we would have with poor soils on our hills.
